Birth & Vision

Traditionally, the study of international relations was sourced from diplomatic history, international law, political philosophy. Other academic disciplines such as sociology, anthropology, ethnology and psychology enriched the study of international relations and consequently revealed other techniques of analysis and judgment.

To think the future in term of oneness can certainly reduce the impacts on the development of Nations. The emergence of new politically organized societies is perceptibly stimulated by the great network of communication bound up with technologies and sciences.

It is from this magnificent vision that the institute was born. Founded in November 2003 by Professor Rodny Daniel, CIDSS is a non profit organization, established under the 1901 French Law and registered under number 9721004869, at the Prefecture of Martinique (FWI).

 A sustainable diplomacy

The right of people to self-determination and to freely choose their way of development and shape constitute the base of freedom. However, the equitable settlement of international crisis, the intelligent management of  regional conflicts, the development of measures intended to build confidence between the States (…)  and the prevention of any form of terrorism suppose, not only one increasingly "balanced" cooperation between the States of planet Earth, but also a rigorous management of  people, goods, services and capital. International resources management requires a redistribution of decision powers.

The management of foreign politics should therefore be an initiative aiming at reinforcing the safety of nations and people. The birth of a new universal community would be defined by the strict application of political law and a sustainable diplomacy. The way towards a solid and universal system passes by international detente and the juridical-diplomatic settlement of disputes emerging between States.

 For an (Afro) Caribbean diplomacy

Through this world configuration, CIDSS hopes to contribute, even modestly, to a broader international cooperation. Martinique and the different Caribbean States have a word to express about foreign policy, international and “Caribbean” diplomacy. The reality of these islands invites to a higher level of responsibility and of consciousness. Entente cordiale within the dissemination of peace ideas and the multiplication of contacts between people and organizations from the Caribbean basin should  reinforce a mutual understanding  while  removing all forms and types of exclusion. A broaden and  multilateral cooperation in the Caribbean, Africa, Europe,  and with the rest of the world should be the outcome of a positive politic, understood and approved  by  the world public opinion.

We believe that CIDSS will definitely promote a higher interest of Martinique and the insular States should act as a spokesperson for a backed up diplomacy, intelligent and corresponding to the third millennium. We are waiting for you with a specific training session organized and oriented to world civil service.
